there was a response to our job ad today!!(*^o^*) i fixed an interview and picked her up at station. her name is Yuki 54 y.o., beautiful woman (pale skin, brown eyes, high nose, slim, japanese) shes working for clinic as a helper 3 days a week. so my boss asked her to come on other 2 days. 4200 yen/day(abt USD$40) only 11am-2pm.
she wanted to work 3 days, so tears stood in her eyes and they turned red soon during the interview(>_<) but she smiled and accepted his offers.
so i introduced her to my colleague in simple english. she asked,
"nanigo shabettan desuka??(wat language did u speak??)"...lol
my boss's wife doesnt understand japanese well, so im a bit worried.
after the interview, his wife said,
"niki-san, i want u to tell her something".
"eh??"
"pls make sure she should clean the Kitchen Sink, Bathtub, Toilet. oh i feel sooo sick when i clean them. so gross~~~! cant look at dirty sink cuz im pregnant!"
"oh thats too bad..."
"and u know, the only person who is cleaning the sink is my husband!!"
hahaha~(^o^);; we burst into laughters.
yuki is supposed to come on saturday. hope there will be no prob between them!!

there was a festival in Jiyugaoka today. i saw performance of russian acrobat Alexey. hes been doing this every year and the music never change. i was shooting several pix of him tho, attracted by this boy who was eating sausage frantically...lol
i had kebab roll at the 'kebab farm'. 450 yen was written in menu, but it was only for pita bread. and the roll i'd ordered was 750 yen($7). too big~(>_<)
flickr was down in the afternoon, so i checked out some japanese web sites. ran into this interesting post of samba carnival, held in shizuoka pref.
the pix of dancers were marvelous! hope u would enjoy!!

i dont like these black parasol girls refraining from sun-tan.
some look like wicked witch. look sooo Odd and Scary when they suddenly appear...(*O*)
but this girl was stunning!!! yea one of the very few girls who look good with witch items!!
as for me, i have a white parasol, gift from my mother. but i can hardly use it. cuz im already tanned and look ridiculous with sun-screen stuff...lol

remember how much we were happy when we started riding bicycle??
i was sooo proud of my speed at the age of 5. i asked my neighbor to run a race with me. he was 2-3 yrs older and much bigger.
but i was quite confident that i would beat him~~~lol
when we started the race, my rear wheel (the small yellow one in this pic) was stuck to his wheel or something. then i crashed on the street badly in a short while, broke my right arm~~~~~(^o^);; couldnt even get up and wailed like hell until someone picked me up.
after that accident, i dont ride a bicycle. my colleagues often say, 'niki u cant even ride a bicycle???'
i just answer like this... 'I Used To Ride!!!! but not any more~~'. haha~!

im sorry for the bad quality of my pix. i admit it..(^o^);;
maybe in the future i might buy it, but now im enjoying these quick shots of camphone, which turn out to be like paintings a bit. and mostly ppl dont notice that im shooting, so that i can snap their natural faces. (got some skills to act as if im not shooting) haha~
i also cant afford to buy a digi cam now! my washingmachine & vacuum cleaner have started making weird noise. ive been using them nearly 10 yrs. time to buy new ones. awww~(>_<)

discussed with a staff of labour office today, revised it from 'maid' to 'housekeeper'. cuz nobody wants to be a maid in japan nowadays. we dont really hire maid like other asian countries.
there are 4 maid service agents in yellow page, tokyo district. but 2 were already closed down. and one said they despatch only baby-sitters. and the last one said they need at least 8000 yen(UDS$75)/day, 4 hrs...lol
i think we will just let it go with a laugh~~(^o^);;

theres no response for our job ad..(^-^;) my boss said he will probably revise the age limit to 19-55 y.o. then pay will be 3000 yen for 2 hrs(USD$28).
i suggested that 19-70 y.o. would be better, japanese women in their 60's are very energetic, they will do fine. but he wouldnt agree...lol
i saw other job ad for maid at labour office, which was abt USD1700 (9-5, 8hrs). yah it is quite similar with company workers salary(^o^);; i dont really know how many time we should revise the ad~~~?????

today i went to labour office to place an job ad. my boss wants a part time maid service since his wife is pregnant.
but the prob is he wants her to work only 2 hours, and 3 days a week(@_@)
and the pay will be 1000 yen/hour~(abt USD9.5)
i told him japanese women will not work for 2000 yen/day~~~~~!!! so he said any nationality is okay. in the meanwhile he doesnt want young girls to come, and his wife doesnt want old women to come...lol
so we just wrote 'age between 30-45' on the ad. (this is quite rude but common in japan)
the labour office said there are some south american women registered(^o^);; who will call me first??? oh im a bit awkward thinking abt this ad!!!

somebody called the fire station today. i was awaken by sirens of fire engine abt 4:30am. ohh.. it was the most horrified moment, when it stopped... like right in front of my apt!??? awwww~!!(*o*)
looking out the window, i thanked to god that was not my apt, but only abt 20m away from here.
there was no smoke, but i saw firefighters were extending hoses, then an ambulance came.
"should i go out???"
i was puzzled. because there were abt 50 household's windows i could see from here. but only one family was looking out the window, and one grandfather was opening his door. but other ppl didnt even open their curtains~~(^o^);; yea i knew... who wants to get up early on sunday.
i think the fire was put out very easily. they went back in abt 10 min.
Still nobody got out of house except that tottering grandfa~~(^o^);; so i went back to sleep with a big Sigh****

there was a small quake at around 4:40am. i still cant go back to sleep since then...(now 7:50) so~~??? i had only 3 hrs sleep(>_<)
my mother was just talking abt the rumour of the great tokyo earthquake coming soon. im sure she will call me up and says,
"i knew that niki!! im doing a lot of research on media~~"
yea... but japan is such a quake country. wats new??(^o^);;
shes been telling me to buy some emergency food & water. but i always eat them up in a couple days. (very bad at saving anything);;tear;;
yah maybe i should buy something not tasty, not easy to open....ughhh!!

we are in the last half of GW(golden week holidays~)(^-^) due to calender, tomorrow is children's day and today is special citizen day(!?) wat the heck is that~?? i dunno the meaning of each holiday...lol
there was emperor's birthday during GW before, but since he declined that day became Greenery Day(??) and his son (akihito) succeeded, but most foreigners ive met were still thinking that his father(hirohito) is emperor.
yeah these are very confusing names(^-^);; and his grandson's name is..oh nooo! i forgot~... hes called as prince hiro.
i snapped this pic at shoppoing mall. ppl are handing baloon to children. this girl was wearing mid-summer clothes, so i was a bit surprised.

hit a new hair salon, shampoo & dry for 2700 yen (abt $25) today. quite reasonable compared to other salons.
But.... the prob of japanese hair salons is Blowdry~~(=_=) many foreigners are complaining abt it. kinda good service, but i was also irritated at that stylist today.
i told her she doesnt have to straighten my hair so hard.
then she replied,
"oh no. im doing this for my convenience, cuz i want to cut more after getting dry"
(noooooooooooo!!!!)
i wanted to stop it but she kept blowing hot hot wind on my face for 20-30 min..(^o^);;
when she had done, she took my cape off and asked,
"can i use a special shinning spray?"
(noooo.... i hate spray!!!!!)
"it wouldnt be greasy or anything".
then she sprayed over and over.
sprayed on my clothes too.....lol
good service, but i think i should go to 1000 yen hair salon (cheaper and quicker) next time.

there were bunch of donkies at the ebisu garden place. kids were riding, jumping like cowboys. they are not electric, but made of rubber and rebound somehow. ive seen them at toy shops. it would be nice to have one at home.....
