Looking for Peter

doozo!
Originally uploaded by Niki Bakshi.
just seen keshi-chan's blog, Looking for Janice and i feel like looking for my missing friend too. sorry keshi-chan to copy u! haha.. ^^

i miss Peter. he was a sweet boy I met on yahoo LA chat room 3 years ago. his real name was chinese but his family was originally from Vietnam.
he migrated to the USA at age abt 10 and had tough time growing up. he never had gf coz he was discriminated badly in childhood. there was only a good white girl in the class who always helped him. he loved her soo much, that he couldnt have a date with anybody till age 27 or something.
he was hoping to come to japan, coz he loved japanese anime. but unfortunately he had to go to Iraq on service of US Army and talked abt death a lot. he was expected to go home last summer, but there's no message till now.
i dont have his photo, so its difficult to find him tho. he was vegetarian and had a habbit of saying "im sorry".
is there anyone who knows him? i hope he's alive and doing well in somewhere.

moving..lol

shabu-shabu
Originally uploaded by Niki Bakshi.
i changed my residence 2 times last year. and never thought of moving out again so early tho...(^o^;;
my boss had decided to move our company to suburb. it will take at least an hour to go there. so i'd better move a bit closer.
today i checked out 4 apartments with realtors.
the first one was 6th floor, western style and gorgeous view. but the rent was too costly for such an old building(20 years old).
the second one was reasonable, has much space & sunlight. but the building was tooo thin, looked like it wud collapse when the quake comes(@_@) the stairways were narrow and scary.
the third one was cheap and bad view. right across from the window is the other building. the fourth one was dirty and scary too. 4th floor, but no safety pole or anything. felt like i was on the roof..lol
the thing is, there is one apt im attracted in suburb. beautiful mountains can be seen from the station. ^^
BUT it will take an hour and half to get to tokyo from there. wheee(>_<) should i stay or should i move....??

wedding

my sister is getting married in autumn.
we are very happy to hear that news.(^o^)/
but her bf's family wants to hold a japanese style wedding ceremony at temple. awwwww~ lol
"do we have to wear kimono?? do we have to do Seiza(the upright kneeling posture like meditation) for hours??"
"yeah i think sooooo." she giggled.

its odd but i never attended japanese style ceremony like that (except my granpa's funeral.) coz western wedding is sooo common nowadays.
"if u bring ur husband, i will tell them that u guys are foreigners and allowed to sit down on the chairs." she said.
lollll
"oh really? but i look obviously japanese!! how can u explain??"
"never mind. i will juz say ur gaijin(foreigner). hahaha~"

we still have 6 months till wedding. have to train myself Seiza on the floor patiently.

"waaat?? where did u see them??"

"oh well, its kinda etiquette! maybe becoz our teeth are not very white."
"yeah", he agreed...lol

birthrate in japan

there was an interesting article in Japan Times today:

More than half of the women born during 1971 to 1974 had not had any children by age 30, according to the Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry.
birthrate will fall at a faster rate, and the population will further decline," a ministry official said.

The figure topped 30% among those born in 1961 and 40% for those born in 1967; among the women born in 1973, a year that saw more than 2 million births in total, 51% had not had a child by age 30.
The proportion of women who had not had any children by age 40 was 10.2% among those born in 1953 and 22.3% for 1964, indicating more women are bearing their first child at a later age, or not having them at all.

Meanwhile, 26.7% of all first-born children had parents who were not married at the time of their conception. Okinawa had the highest 42.2%! lollll

today i had to go to a realtor in yokohama to help my senior.
sooo tiring! we had to hear them reading documents(contract etc) over 2 hours.
when we left abt 6pm, the manager of the realtor whispered,

"did u have to work overtime? hehe"

lollllll
geeee(>_<) he must ve been thinking that im a part timer who doesnt work late in the evening(!?)
yah if i looked intelligent, he wouldnt have asked such a silly question.
i was speachless. but my senior was thankful and bought me a canned coffee on the way back. tasted really wonderful in this rainy cold day ^^
